Cloud Bucket Bag

Compact and light, the bucket bag, with its round form that asserts itself as it fills, is always up to task. A cross between the tsampa bag and the Native Columbian Mochilla, it is made from sturdy cloud-printed cotton canvas.

Clouds, carrying water, driven by wind, dominate the Tibetan Plateau sky with their changing, billowing forms. They advance, retreat, and turn from white to yellow or pink depending on the time of day, and from grey to charcoal, dictated by the weather. Herders, taking a break on the pasture look up at their changing shapes, to dream or see into the future.

Clouds have inspired Tibetan artists and craftsmen who paint, sculpt, and carve them into all aspects of their lives.
