Carved Incense Burner

Sale price$215 USD

The five offerings of sensory enjoyment represent the most beautiful objects which attract the five senses: sight or form, sound, smell, taste and touch. These offerings invariably take the form of: a mirror for sight; cymbals, gongs or a lute for sound; an incense-laden conch shell for smell; fruit for taste; and a silk cloth for touch. As objects of the most delightful sensory pleasures they are often presented as offerings to the deities or gurus, they are often painted on thangkas as well.

The symbols are beautifully carved onto our incense burner by our woodwork artists, plain with natural wood finish. You can store your incense sticks in the drawer and the top compartment with lid is where the incense is burned. We suggest putting a thin layer of sand before you burn your first incense, so you don’t damage the wood. The lid has a brass sheet cover to protect the wood.
